Pasji rep [Dog’s tail] is one of the oldest winegrowing regions in Vipava valley.
Their family has been sharing passion for winemaking for at least four generations, but the milestone was in 1985 when Franc decided to plant first vineyard of Zelen, which was at that time just another abandoned indigenous variety. Zelen quickly became flagship wine and shortly gained its popularity from good old days. Today they own 7 hectares of vineyards, most of which are situated on steep slopes of Pasji rep hills up to 400 meters of altitude.
Farming is done using sustainable methods and is certified biodynamic. They are focused on local and indigenous varieties, which have been present in the region for centuries. They strive to produce wines that express true character of flysch soil and microclimate of upper Vipava valley hillsides.
